Ceramic tint for R2, R1S & R1T.

OC House of Tint installs XPEL ceramic window tint for Rivian owners in Orange County. Ceramic film reduces infrared heat through the glass, while your chosen shade controls brightness and privacy. Front-window tint adds shade beside you. Windshield and roof film can help if direct sunlight still feels uncomfortable through those areas.

R2

Tinting the R2’s front side windows can soften strong side sunlight and bring their appearance closer to the rear glass. If you still feel sun on your face or arms, windshield ceramic tint addresses an area that side-window film cannot cover.

  • Reduce glare through the front side windows
  • Add infrared heat rejection to the glass you tint
  • Choose lighter windshield shades to retain more daylight

R1S

Rear passengers in an R1S can feel sunlight through both the side windows and the panoramic roof. Ceramic side-window tint helps reduce that heat beside the seats. Film on suitable roof glass can also reduce overhead heat and brightness.

  • Ceramic heat rejection beside the rear seats
  • Optional roof tint for overhead sunlight
  • Front-window shades that complement the rear privacy glass

R1T

Windshield film helps with the sun in front of you, while roof and rear-window tint address light from above and behind. On an R1T, these options complement the side windows without relying on a very dark shade everywhere in the cabin.

  • Windshield film for infrared heat at the front seats
  • Roof tint for direct overhead sun
  • Rear-window tint for glare behind the seats

Where ceramic tint makes a difference.

Side & rear glass

Ceramic film adds infrared heat rejection. Choose the shade for the amount of glare reduction and privacy you want, taking the existing rear privacy glass into account.

Windshield

Sun can still reach the front seats through the windshield after the side windows are tinted. A lighter ceramic film reduces infrared heat while admitting more daylight than a darker shade.

Roof glass

Optional roof tint can reduce overhead heat and brightness. We check your Rivian’s roof configuration and existing solar protection before recommending additional film.

The finishing details

A clean edge.A factory-style finish.

On roll-down door windows, we shave the tint to follow the top edge of the glass. The result is a close, factory-style finish you can see when the window is lowered.

Computer-cut patterns help fit the film to your vehicle. Careful hand-finishing completes the visible edge.

Rivian tint questions

Do you install ceramic tint on Rivian R2, R1S, and R1T?

Yes. OC House of Tint installs XPEL window film on R2, R1S, and R1T vehicles. Our gallery shows those models at the shop. Send the year and model so we can quote the windows, windshield, and roof options for your Rivian.

Does factory privacy glass make ceramic tint unnecessary?

Not necessarily. Dark rear glass gives privacy, but its color alone does not tell you how much infrared heat it rejects. Ceramic film can add heat rejection to factory glass. We take its existing shade into account so the finished windows do not become darker than you want.

What are the benefits of tinting a Rivian windshield or glass roof?

Ceramic windshield tint helps reduce infrared heat reaching the front seats. Roof tint can reduce heat and overhead brightness for people sitting beneath the glass. These areas receive sunlight from different directions, so adding film only to the side windows may leave you feeling sun through the windshield or roof.

Does every Rivian glass roof need tint?

No. Existing glass protection and roof configurations vary. If overhead sunlight is already comfortable, you may not need more film. If heat or glare remains a concern, OC House of Tint can check the actual roof and explain suitable options before you decide.

What is the difference between XR Black and XR Plus?

Both are XPEL ceramic films. XR Plus uses a multilayer construction and has the higher infrared rejection rating. XR Black is a strong everyday option; XR Plus is worth comparing when heat is the main concern. Shade is a separate choice, so either film can be selected around the amount of daylight and privacy you prefer.

Can the front windows match the rear glass?

We can help bring their appearance closer, but factory glass, viewing angle, and cabin lighting can affect the match. A lighter ceramic shade adds heat rejection with less darkening; a darker shade adds more privacy and glare reduction. Windshield choices also need particular attention to visibility at night.
